Perspective

From being born, learning to behave & speak appropriately, socializing, going to school, getting hired, finding & keeping partners, trying to maintain our health & energy, trying to be & remain financially solvent, transitioning into retirement, to transitioning out of life itself, is a continuous series of challenges!

Challenging situations can be compared to a maze. We can have one of two polar opposite perspectives: lost within the maze - anxious, stressed - OR - clearly see the maze & the way out from above - peaceful.

Anxious striving busyness (mental ± physical) or giving up, are very common approaches to daily challenges. This is being lost in the maze, with no apparent way out. The more challenging life becomes, the more anxiously we strive to find our way out of the maze by working harder & harder, trying to do more, trying to do better, toying with burn out.

Mindfulness meditation offers a third alternative: rediscovering our natural capacity for clarity, kindness, and peace (silence & stillness).

“No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it." Albert Einstein

So if we're stressed out, working way too hard, and feeling more & more depleted, we might seriously investigate what Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) can do for our quality of life. Life is short!
