Non-doing

The natural reaction of our conditioned mind on hearing a word such as "non-doing" is to rush in to judge it as unacceptable. I'm not going to navel-gaze my life away! I'm very busy (ie important)!! And on goes the black-and-white (all or nothing) thinking - a common cognitive distortion.

Should we investigate a bit more calmly and deeply, we may gradually realize that non-doing is a sense of rightness & effortlessness, arising from authenticity & congruence. Thus behavior is skillful, decreasing suffering & increasing happiness in the long-term. There's no inner conflict, friction or noise, only silence, stillness, peace. The ego is quiet, allo- / ecocentric (rather than egocentric). This is how life is when behavior arises from centeredness.
