But Words Get In The Way
We crave certainty, stability, solidity, despite, or perhaps because we know that we live in a rapidly shifting, completely interconnected, immensely complex ecosystem. We long to arrive at & hang onto firm, unchanging facts ASAP.
But as we get past our futile, anxious attempts to control life, our perspectives change.
"Existence is beyond the power of words to define." Lao Tzu
“The water in a vessel is sparkling; the water in the sea is dark. The small truth has words which are clear; the great truth has great silence.” Rabindranath Tagore
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.” Rainer Maria Rilke
