Needy? Really? Who am I?

Let's face it, our world revolves around the things "I" want, "I" have to have, "I" must get done, "my" this, "my" that. It's all about me! If we look carefully, self-centeredness lurks even behind feelings of "not being good enough" - it's still a self-image! The ego is shameless - it will hang on to anything. For the ego, a lousy self-image is better than no self-image.

But egocentricity is based on a delusion. We are NOT needy infants. We are far more than we can imagine. Doesn't the fact that altruistic behaviour brings peace and happiness, suggest that we may be the natural source of love?
