What if we took our many opinions about all sorts of things FAR less seriously than we do now?
What if we took our many preferences - our 'must haves' and 'must avoids' FAR less seriously than we do now?
What if we took our self-concepts - how we imagine ourselves FAR less seriously than we do now?
How much do WE value the preferences, self-concepts & opinions of others - even of people we love? We likely don't take them seriously. So it's probably not worth all the time & effort we waste trying to solidify OUR preferences, self-concepts & opinions - which in reality, are merely brief, transient thoughts.
How does it affect our quality of life when we let go of these futile efforts to "reify the self"?
